Daycare

Your children are meeting new challenges as fast as they come.  Crawling, walking, and eventually running are levels they all accomplish in what seems like a blink of an eye.  Children learn best if they are in a stimulating environment.  While at The B Hive, your child will have fun in a play-based environment, using their imaginations to create and explore.  The daily activities reflect a healthy balance between play and rest, active and quiet times, structured group times, individual activities, and of course, appropriate affectionate adult-child interactions.

How We Do It

Want to learn more about our process and how we create the perfect environment for you child?

Inclusion Policy

The B Hive strives to meet the needs of each child in the best way possible. Complex behaviors can present in many ways and differ from child to child. Open communication and collaboration are essential in determining effective support strategies for each individual child. Due to limited resources, we are unable to accommodate students requiring supports beyond a 1:8 teacher-student ratio including those with moderate-severe behavioral or learning challenges, those with a history of oppositional defiance disorder, aggression or physical violence, students who pose a flight risk, or those facing medical fragility. If a child’s behaviors pose a risk to the child or impose on the safety of other children, families may be asked to seek alternative care. The safety and well being of all the students in a room must be considered at all times.

Daycare FAQ

We do not provide meals and snacks. Children are picky eaters and we respect that there are many allergies, dietary restrictions, preferences and personal choices when it comes to feeding our families. In order to ensure that your child is getting the nutrition they need and eating the healthy foods they love, we ask that parents please send a lunch and two substantial snacks. The B Hive will carry a small supply of healthy snacks for those days where kiddos need a little extra. Due to staff and student allergies, The B Hive is a nut free facility.

If your child is not feeling well, for any reason, they do not come to daycare. Any child who is ill and unable to participate fully in regular activities should be cared for at home.
Please refer to this document for a list of some of the reasons your child should remain home to reduce the spread of illness to other children and families. The document will also offer information on our policy regarding timelines for illness.
Communicable Diseases: May Not Be Permitted by Law to attend Child Care.
Immunizations: Not permitted back to childcare after vaccination until your child has been monitored overnight – side effects are possible (Example: shots at 10:00 am = return to care the next morning if no side effects).

Each age group has different needs and although we do have a routine and a schedule, they are based on meeting the needs of the child. Our goal is to spend at least two hours or more per day (weather permitting) outdoors exploring our community's parks and playgrounds, green spaces, walking trails, etc. Strollers are used for the babies so they can be sure to get outside too! Our room leaders are happy to review the schedule/routine in your child's room at orientation.

Yes!! Accountability is key for any reputable daycare. Cameras are installed in each room as part of our security protocols. Administrators have access to recordings and live feeds which are monitored on an ongoing basis. All recordings are kept for one week. For the safety and privacy of our families, we do not offer observation through our cameras.

The B Hive Daycare uses Brightwheel which is an all-in-one childcare management app for centers and families that simplifies daily operations and communication. It handles administrative tasks like student check-ins, online enrollment, while also allowing for real-time parent communication, sharing of daily activities such as diaper changes and naps. The app is available on Apple and Android devices. Families are invited to enroll one business day before your child's scheduled start date.

As a family oriented program, we feel it is important to ensure that our staff have a healthy work/life balance. This allows us to continue to put our best foot forward for your family. Fees are not prorated for these closures in compliance with our Gov of AB grant agreements for funding.
